Greg next to his GLS1 Rocket
Greg has been flying in the High Plains Rocket Society for the last couple of years. Besides the orginality of his rocket designs, he is also known in the group for his finishes on rockets that look like they were done by an automotive paint shop. Greg is the only member of the High Plains Rocket Society to break the sound barrier with one of his rockets.
Above is one of Greg's own designs which has been flown several times with complete success. Notice the unique hemispherical fin shape. This rocket was recently flown with a real "butt kicker" motor that left one of the launch lugs behind on the rod. Yet, it still flew straight as an arrow into the sky. Greg is working on a new rocket that will be 8 inches in diameter and over 10 ft tall.
