Our Goal

The Foundation for Learning Advancement is dedicated to expanding the public's knowledge of the scientific and engineering fields from the past through present times. We believe that education in the engineering and scientific fields is an essential part of life today. By offering a variety of classes and material we hope to impact the amount of scientific knowledge we have today. The Foundation for Learning Advancement is a nonprofit organization and was established in 2004 by John Wickman.

Current Projects

The Rocket Camp-The Rocket Camp is an educational outreach program for students to learn about rockets and space exploration. Unlike other types of camps, this is a hands-on program where students work with shop tools and build their rockets from scratch. Unique to this program is that the students will be working on the shop floor of a real aerospace company. They will be able to interact with engineers and technicians as they attend the camp. Enrollment in classes is around seven students for a maximum learning experience. For more information and to sign up for classes Click Here.

The first Pathfinder rocket was built as a collaberation between students attending Natrona County School District, Casper College and the University of Cincinnati. It was successfully launched from the NASA Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia on July 17, 2004. Students monitored the flight from the control center. The rocket reached an altitude of about 16,000 feet. For more information on the first Pathfinder rocket project Click Here.
